Namibian Resources plc holds a contract with NAMDEB for the prospecting and mining of diamonds in the Pomona area of the Sperrgebiet (forbidden area) of Diamond Area Number 1. The contract becomes renewable for a further 10 years in 2012.

We continue to exploit the rich diamond deposits within this region using latest technology equipment and a unique knowledge of the geology of the area.

Members of our board, together with key members of our management team and a consultant, bring strong geological, technical and financial expertise to the company.

The Right Honourable Lord Sheppard of Didgemere KCVO Kt
Position: Non-Executive Chairman

Allen Sheppard, a chartered management accountant, worked for 18 years in the motor industry in Britain and Germany (Ford, Rootes/Chrysler and British Leyland). He joined Grand Metropolitan (which has since merged with Guinness plc to form Diageo plc) as a board member in 1975, serving as Group Chief Executive from 1986 to 1993 and Group Chairman from 1987 to 1996.

He was Chairman of McBride plc and is currently Chairman of OneClickHR and the Unipart Group of Companies. He is a Chanceller of Middlesex University, a Honorary Fellow and Governor of the LSE, a member of the House of Lords Economic Affairs Select Committee and President of London First. In 1993 he was awarded the annual gold medal from the British Institute of Management.

Allen Sheppard is Chairman of both our Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Anthony Carlton
Position: Chief Executive Officer

Tony Carlton is a stockbroker who has had over 40 years experience in portfolio and fund management. This has included many years seeking investment opportunities in mining. He has spent the last six years developing the current resource to a stage that enabled the company to float on the AIM market in 2004.

Oliver Plummer
Position: Finance Director

Oliver Plummer qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1973. After qualification he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in London, Cleveland, Ohio and Turin, Italy and between 1979 and 1981 he worked as a European International Auditor for AMP Corporation (USA). He formed Oliver Plummer & Co., an accounting firm, in 1982 and has remained a sole practioner every since, with an extensive knowledge of small businesses.

Brian Moritz
Position: Non Executive Director

Brian is a chartered accountant and former senior partner of the London office of Grant Thornton, one of the leading international accounting firms. He is on the board of directors of a number of junior mining and exploration companies, the majority of which operate in Africa. He also specialises in advising companies, mainly in the area of flotation.

In his former role at Grant Thornton, he was registered by the LSE as a nominated adviser and a qualified executive for companies seeking admission to the AIM Market and as a Listed Company sponsor.

Brian is responsible for Investor liaison and sits on both our Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Dr Donald Graham Sutherland ESc PhD
Position: Executive Director

He is Chief Operations Officer of our current mining activities in Namibia as well as for the development of new projects.  Donald, aged 58, has BSc and PhD degrees from Edinburgh University and is a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Donald has been involved in diamond exploration and mining for over 30 years with extensive experience throughout Africa and elsewhere.  Of particular relevance to Namibian Resources’ operations is his detailed knowledge of the diamond deposits of the West Coast of Southern Africa”.
